Detective Ed Greene, looped in on the news, has an astonished expression on his face.
“O Captain My Captain,” Greene said to former D.C.I. Ed Hopkins. “Welcome to the New York Police Department.”
“I think I prefer my former job title,” Hopkins informs Greene. “But Captain Ed Hopkins of the New York Police Department works.”
“We’re still working the same case,” continued Hopkins, “I trust.”
Detective Elliot Stabler, having heard the news, enters the room. His facial expression paints a vivid portrait. It looks like Stabler is pleased to have his old university friend as part of the NYPD family.
