Random Drabble Word: “Breadcrumbs”…

Shain E. Thomas

--

John Stewart, as a gentle wind blew through Central Park, sat reading his newspaper. There was nothing of any real interest on the front page.

The only reason John bothered with this daily activity was because he needed something to do.

“I have a coffee for you,” Phillip Simons said. “I hope this satisfies your needs.”

John took the cup and savoured it.

“There is nothing like a good cup of coffee,” John said to Phillip. “This is real coffee. … What can I do for you?”

The two men quietly sat together as they watched numerous pigeons eat breadcrumbs.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
