Please be advised the New York’s Finest series contains themes of an adult nature….

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.

Captain Ed Hopkins, as he drank his coffee, smiled inwardly to himself.

“I’m with the NYPD,” Hopkins told the Canadian visitors. “I’m a former Detective Chief Inspector from a small place in England. Ironbridge.”

“The Birthplace of the British Industrial Revolution,” responded Detective Sergeants Henry Graff. “I read a lot.”

“He’s not kidding,” Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman said. “I think my colleague’s best friend is his library card.”

Hopkins, seeing how the two Canadians have real chemistry, understood their connection.

“It’s nice to have someone you can rely on,” addressing Bateman directly, Hopkins said. “You clearly make a good team.”
