Certain sections of society favour self-interest over the greater good. Their likes and dislikes are more important to them than the wellbeing of others. Random strangers will line up to get whatever they want.
“I have a feeling that arse will be very popular,” as he zipped up his trousers, Constable George Harris said with a smirk. “Very popular with men, women, trans-folks, and scum … you know … paedophiles.”
Harris, as he looked me up and down, was clearly thinking something nasty.
“How old are you?” the constable asked.
I, before saying “14 years old”, hesitated for a split-second.
