A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.

Perry White, in the Editorial Conference Room, was reading the latest edition of The Daily Planet when Clark Kent made his presence felt.

“Mr. White,” said Kent. “I’m Clark Kent. I’m really excited to have this opportunity to work for The Daily Planet.”

“Don’t waste it,” responded White.

White winced as Kent gripped the editor’s hand.

“That’s a strong handshake you have there,” White said. “You should be careful with that.”

“Have you met Jimmy Olsen?” White asked Kent. “He’s a photographer. He’ll be showing you around.”

Kent, pleased with how the day had unfolded, found himself distracted by alarms.
