D.C.I. Ed Hopkins, pondering life’s little mysteries, sat at his desk with a cup of coffee in hand. There is nothing quite like a good cup of coffee. Hopkins has grown accustomed to drinking dip coffee made from freshly ground beans. Italian roast.

Lieutenant Kate Dixon, walking over to Hopkins, caught the detective chief inspector’s attention.

“I got a call from your boss,” Dixon informed Hopkins. “He wants to know when you will be back in Ironbridge.”

“I was meaning to talk to you about that,” Hopkins responded. “I’m looking to say here. Is there any chance you can help?”

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
