Samantha Beckett, when Dr. Lilly Mayweather arrived at the restaurant, was already seated near the stage. Beckett, as soon as she saw the professor, stood up.

“I didn’t recognize you the way you are dressed,” Mayweather said. “That is one seriously nice three-piece-suit.”

“Thank you,” responded Beckett. “It is tailor-made. A client gave it to me as a gift.”

“Your dress doesn’t look like it is off the rack,” as she admired Mayweather’s long black dress, continued Beckett. “

“This dress was an advance on an assignment,” Mayweather said. “Certainly not prêt-à-porter.”

The two ladies smiled and read the menu.
