“It looks like the Desk Sergeant has taken to you like a duck to water,” in addressing me directly, Constable George Harris said.

“I believe you mean like a pimp to a prostitute,” I replied.

“Tuh·may·tow Tuh·maa·tow,” with a chuckle, Harris responded.

Little did I realise, upstairs in the police station reception area, my mother was speaking with Desk Sergeant Richard Gough.

Gough, earlier, took his sweet time with me before heading back to his desk. The Desk Sergeant had left me feeling more than a little sore.

Harris, with his own plans, was intending on taking what he needed.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. It is never less than 100 words. Nor is it more than 100 words. The read time is short. It is typically 30 seconds to a minute or so… Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
