“Robert,” said Georgina Minton, “tells people he is 14 years old. He will not be 14 years old for another two years.”

“Could he be big for his age?” asked Desk Sergeant Richard Gough. “I am curious. We sometimes need to ask odd questions. It is just part of the job.”

Gough, thinking about his new playmate, allowed his mind to drift.

“I just boned her son,” thought the Desk Sergeant to himself, “and Constable George Harris is doing the same right now.”

Gough, as he pretended to listen to Robert’s mother, saw Harris walk by and out the door.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. It is never less than 100 words. Nor is it more than 100 words. The read time is short. It is typically 30 seconds to a minute or so… Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
