Dr. Mark Greene was one of my favourite ER characters. The series premiere ended with the line "Coming Dr. Carter?" Curiously, fifteen years later, the series finale ended with the line "Coming Dr. Greene?"

Greene was brilliantly well-portrayed. I loved everything about this character. His commitment to the work is readily apparent.

His daughter, in the series finale, is well on her way to becoming a doctor herself. There is a moment where she references her father. It is a touching moment. Heart-warming. It was a reminder that this particular apple did not fall far from the tree.
