Donald Grainger, straightening the blanket on his bed, was hoping for good news. Grainger, in recent months, had applied to four universities. He was looking to complete his education with a doctoral degree in Archaeology.

A knock at the door caught Grainger’s attention. It was his neighbour. She wanted to know if there had been any news. The look on Grainger’s face told Agatha Phillips everything.

Phillips, a few minutes later, was back. A letter had been placed in her mailbox by mistake. It was from Princeton University.

“I’m in,” after opening the letter, Grainger said.

Grainger beamed with excitement.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
