Random Drabble Word(s): “Exigent” and “Circumstance”

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.

Detectives Jeff Randall and Marty Hopkirk, without a warrant, felt they had a justifiable reason for entering a suspect’s apartment.

“We need to get in there,” Randall said to Hopkirk. “He could be destroying evidence.”

“We don’t have a warrant,” Hopkirk responded.

“Exigent circumstances,” commented Randall. “Does that term ring a bell?”

Exigent circumstances, for people unfamiliar with the terminology, is the correct legal term. It allows law enforcement individuals to enter a property without a warrant.

“You first,” Hopkirk said. “Age before beauty.”

Randall and Hopkirk, once in the apartment, found absolutely nothing. It felt odd to them both.
