Friday, 5 March 1982, for eight-year-old James Taylor, started pretty much the same as any other day. Taylor, enjoying his morning glass of orange juice, grabbed a cassette case from his bedside cabinet.

The Blues Brothers Original Soundtrack, featuring Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, and The Blues Brothers Band, had been Taylor’s go-to-morning music for two years. He loved the soundtrack.

Taylor, obsessed with Belushi, was listening to the soundtrack when news of John Belushi’s death was reported on the news. The devastation on Taylor’s face was readily apparent. Curiously, some four decades later, Taylor remains obsessed with his late hero.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
