“You are late,” noting Constable George Harris walking through the door, Desk Sergeant Richard Gough said without looking up from his paperwork.

Harris is not someone that makes a habit of being late. This could be a first for the constable.

“There was an issue with the train from Lilliput,” Harris responded. “A tree came down in the middle of the night and blocked the track.”

“Did you enjoy yourself the other day?” the Desk Sergeant asked of Harris.

“You made life easier,” Harris said. “You left behind all the lube I required and then some. Robert Minton behaved admirably.”

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. It is never less than 100 words. Nor is it more than 100 words. The read time is short. It is typically 30 seconds to a minute or so… Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
