Detective Chief Inspector Jonathon Phillips, having taken over from former DCI Ed Hopkins, was settling into his new position nicely.

There was, when he first arrived at the Police Station at Ironbridge, a little resistance to the way he conducted himself. But, as his colleagues became accustomed to his ways, the atmosphere became more relaxed.

There were a few cases left over from when Hopkins occupied the office. Nothing major, in Phillips’ opinion, so he passed them on to a few detective sergeants.

Ironbridge, as Phillips soon discovered, had a way of getting under people’s skin. Nothing very much happens.
