“I do not know if you already figured this out,” said D.C.I. Ed Hopkins as he savoured his coffee, “but then you are married to him.”

“John expects people to remain the same. The thing is, as we grow older, no one remains the same forever. We all change. Obviously, when you think about it, the people we become differ throughout our lives. It suggests growth. We keep moving forwards rather than backwards. That, so long as we remember all the people that we used to be, is a good thing.”

“You watch too much Doctor Who,” Sarah Mills responded.
