Music, whilst it might not be all that significant to a lot of people, plays a huge part in how we see the world around us. It is the soundtrack to our lives. Everyone has a favourite song or piece of music. There are no exceptions to this rule. Is there a song you’ve ever obsessed over, ponders Matthew James Fletcher, as he frantically looks for a way out of a sticky situation?

Fletcher, before returning to the United Kingdom, had been increasingly obsessed by a particular song. “Husavik”, better known by the English title “My Hometown”, is a song by Molly Sandén and Will Ferrell. It was used in the dramedy film Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

Fletcher, when listening to the song, failed to recognise the significance of the lyrics. Misinterpretation played a huge part in his decision to take a vacation in the United Kingdom.
