Desk Sergeant Richard Gough, as he approached his desk, had a grin on his face. Gough, pleased with himself, looked like the cat that got the canary.
“Did you give it to him?” Constable George Harris asked.
“Yes,” the Desk Sergeant replied. “Not half!”
A woman standing at the reception desk caused them to pause their conversation.
“Go do what you need to do,” Gough told Harris. “I will be tending to this lady’s issues.”
Harris headed towards The Nunnery.
“How can I help?” asked Gough of the lady.
“My son,” Georgina Minton said, “is missing … Lost in London.”
