Detective Chief Inspector John Edward “Ed” Hopkins — Ed Hopkins, a senior detective, works in the Police Station at Ironbridge. Ed has been working out of the Police Station at Ironbridge since moving back to Shropshire in 2010.
Family matters, most of which were unforeseen, took Hopkins back to Shropshire. Hopkins, wanting a life in the country’s capital city, was not exactly thrilled with his circumstances.
Hopkins, born on Sunday, 29 Feb. 1976 in Bridgnorth, was mostly home-schooled before attending the town’s well-established Bridgnorth Endowed School. Well-established is likely the understatement of the year. The Bridgnorth Endowed School, one of the most academically elite schools in Shropshire, was founded in 1503.
Hopkins, with degrees in criminology, forensic science, and psychology, is an Oxbridge graduate. Not many people can simultaneously handle multiple degree programs. He graduated from the University of Oxford in 1998 and went on to attend London’s Hendon Police College.
