Random Drabble Word: “Captain”…
Lieutenant Kate Dixon, as she smiles to herself, recognizes how valuable D.C.I. Ed Hopkins could be to her department. The detective chief inspector’s approach to policing. Hopkins, whilst not the American way, gets results.
“I have been speaking with the Chief of Detectives over at One Police Plaza,” Dixon informed Hopkins. “He’s willing to sign off on you being a permanent part of Manhattan’s Major Case Squad. Are you interested?”
“Absolutely,” Hopkins responded. “It would mean a demotion. I’d be fine with that.”
“Actually,” Dixon noted. “You’d have Captain status. I’m also getting a promotion to captain. We’ll be equals.”
A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
