The secrets people keep, typically until death, remain for ever closely guarded. “Such is life,” a comment erroneously attributed to Australian outlaw Ned Kelly before his execution, says a lot. Really, as a side note, it says more about the people that ignore history because he didn’t actually say it.

Kelly’s last words, not what Winston Scott referenced in John Wick: Chapter Four, was actually “ah well, I suppose it has come to this”. This life that Matthew James Fletcher leads, one of perpetual sexual abuse, came to this long before anyone could have possibly imagined.

Mark Davies, for years, had been taking advantage of Fletcher for years before his father discovered what had been going on between them. Simon Davies, curiously, had thought he’d been the only dipping his wick in the family ink. Fletcher, since he had been adopted, wasn’t really family ink. But this didn’t stop Davies feeling more than a little annoyed. Annoyed really is the understatement of the year.

Davies, instead of getting his son to stop plugging Fletcher’s backdoor, left the way clear for Mark to continue his activities. Fletcher, given the choice between father and son, certainly had his preference. The father…
