Personally, not that it matters, I think I might have used the Latin Tempus Fugit for the title.... Latin was a required course when I was in school. Latin and Ancient Greek. It is what it is... I digress.

This is a compelling drabble. More than a little intelligence went into making this story work. I can see that in the way you wrote each sentence. Nicely done.
