Constable George Harris, as he wonders down to The Nunnery, sees Desk Sergeant Richard Gough exit one of the cells. Gough is too busy zipping himself up to notice Harris’ presence.

“Anthony Richards and Amber Davis, said Harris, “have this boy they want to send down to us. Their regulars might recognise him because he’s a Shropshire local. David Sheppard.”

The Nunnery, almost fully restocked, has a few empty cells.

“Is this boy worth our time?” Gough responded. “What’s he like?”

Harris smiled his usual smile.

“He’s broken in,” Harris said. “Anthony and Amber made sure he knows what’s what.”

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
