Dr. Lilly Mayweather, getting ready for a trip back to Oxford, looked through her personal library for something to read whilst aboard her American Airlines flight.
“The agony of choice,” as the professor scanned the many book-packed shelves, Mayweather said to herself. “Something history related.”
Pedagogy of the Oppressed, written by Brazilian educator and philosopher Paulo Freire, caught the professor’s attention. It is certainly one of the best academically framed books written.
“Pedagogy of the Oppressed is going in my travel on luggage,” Mayweather said. “Let’s also put Dr Christopher Fuhrmann’s Policing the Roman Empire in there for good measure.”
