Random Drabble Word of the Day is “Sticks”…

“We’re going to receive unwanted visitors from the sticks,” Desk Sergeant Richard Gough, in a matter-of-fact tone, warned Constable George Harris. “You know what that means.”

“John’s Dyke,” Harris responded. “We are moving our residents to our other facility.”

John’s Dyke has been in operation for approximately 350 years. It has been home to many boys during that period. The Sleepy Hollow residents will be taken to John’s Dyke.

There, naturally, the boys will be treated in the same manner they have been whilst in Gough’s care. Their regular Johns will just have further to travel. Such is the life.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
