D.C.I. Ed Hopkins and D.C. Phillip Morris get their go-bags and head to the car. On their way towards the police station entrance, despite being more than a little distracted, someone catches Ed’s attention.

Robert Minton, more than a little tired from having walked all night from John’s Dyke, arrives at Ironbridge’s police station. The police station in Broseley, the one Minton tried first, has been closed for at least six months.

“It looks like the road trip is off,” noting Robert’s presence, Phillip said to Ed. “We need to get him situated.”

“I will call his parents,” Ed responded.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
