“Sarah Mills is here to see you,” D.C. Simon Phillips, as he hovered at the doorway, said to D.C.I. Ed Hopkins.

“Show her in,” responded Ed, “and get her a coffee, tea, or something.”

“It has been a long time,” Ed said as he greeted Sarah. “How are you doing?”

“Save it!” responded Sarah in a cold tone. “What is going on between you can John?”

“Nothing,” Ed said, “as far as I know. What is the issue?”

Sarah, as she pressed her thumbs together, sat opposite Ed. There was something clearly playing on her mind. What could it be?

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. It is never less than 100 words. Nor is it more than 100 words. The read time is short. It is typically 30 seconds to a minute or so… Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
