Constable George Harris, with a bounce in his step, walks into the police station. Desk Sergeant Richard Gough immediately notices Harris is in a happy mood.

“What’s got you chipper?” Gough said to Harris. “Have you had your way with Goldilocks?”

“No,” responded Harris. “I haven’t been with that faggot yet today. I do have some good news”

“Good news?” asked Gough. “What could possibly be good news?”

“Captain Ed Hopkins is staying in the United States,” Harris informs Gough. “I have a good source.”

“Captain?” Gough said. “Don’t you mean Detective Chief Inspector?”

“No,” Harris said. “New job title.”

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
