Random Drabble Word of the Day is “Muffled”…

David Sheppard, feeling more than a little sore, wakes up in a darkened room. Sheppard, tied face down to a bed, cannot move much. There is no wiggle room.

Muffled voices catch his attention. There are shadows in the doorway. The missed glass prevents any clear identification.

“This one is mine,” in brief conversation with someone, a man is heard saying. “Just for me!”

“We found three new boys since the Minton kid escaped,” a female voice, the other person said. “I guess you will be sticking it to the other two kids.”

Laughter, as both shadows moved away, followed.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
