A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.

This was not a night anyone was expecting. Weather forecasts, whilst meteorology isn’t an exact science, were way off the mark. Torrential rain hit the south coast. Brighton’s once famous pier is no more.

High winds caused the structure to collapse into the sea. Fortunately, with the pier having been closed for repairs, no one was injured.

Heavy rain continued through the night. Tourists, not realizing such meteorological events could happen in the UK, were trapped in their hotel rooms.

“All dressed up with nowhere to go,” said a Texan to the hotel’s bartender. “I hope you don’t get tornadoes.”
