The title is certainly an attention grabber. It reminded me of a Father Brown episode title... The Man in the Tree.

You did a great job with this drabble. I particularly like the sinisterly dark twist. There is something about chillingly dark storylines that resonate with me on a personal level. This absolutely does that.
