“There is a call for you, Ed,” said D.C. Phillip Morris. “Line One.”

“This is D.C.I. Ed Hopkins,” the Detective Chief Inspector, after connecting with the incoming call, said.

This is a call Ed had been expecting. It just took a little longer than he had hoped.

“This is Georgina Minton calling from Sleepy Hollow,” said the voice on the other end of the line.

“Yes,” said Ed. “I have been expecting you to call me. Your husband, Earnest Minton, paid me a visit earlier this week. He is concerned your search for Robert is not producing any constructive leads.”

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. It is never less than 100 words. Nor is it more than 100 words. The read time is short. It is typically 30 seconds to a minute or so… Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
