A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.

March, just like the previous month, was quiet. Nothing unexpected happened. Roger Davies, even though he had been hoping for a bit of excitement, found himself wishing for a life less ordinary.

“Mr. Davies,” said the receptionist, “The doctor will see you now.”

“Thank you, Davies responded, “and it’s Dr. Davies. I have a PhD. I didn’t accumulate a massive student debit to be called Mr.”

A different life. Davies, a Texas Christian University alumnus, missed his university days.

The receptionist, without commenting, merely smiled. There was something in the receptionist’s expression which told Davies she didn’t believe his assertion.
