A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. The read time is short. Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.

It was a cold morning. Sun light was fleeting. Dark grey clouds, as raindrops poured down, covered the sky. Philip Bailey, waking up in a hospital bed, didn’t recognize his surroundings.

“Nurse,” said Bailey. “Where am I?”

“You are in Croydon University Hospital,” Nurse Mildred Ratched said. ”Are you feeling any better?”

“Confused would be a good word,” Bailey responded. “I don’t know how I got here. Everything is a blur.”

Ratched, listening to her patient, paused for a moment before addressing Bailey.

“You were found unconscious on London Road,” Ratched said. “Dr. Martha Jones will be with you shortly.”
