Random Drabble Word of the Day is “Tabletop”…

“Today is the day,” thought D.C.I. John Edward Hopkins has he made for himself a cup of coffee.

Hopkins, Ed to his friends and colleagues, has been living in this backwater of a sleepy village for at least a decade. Nothing happens without good reason and in Broseley, as Ed saw it, nothing happens.

The closest Broseley has ever gotten to seeing a murder was Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick. The murderer was either Reverend Green, Colonel Mustard, or Chef White. No one really knows. It was not real. Tabletop board games are fun but seriously distracting.

A drabble consists of exactly 100 words. It is never less than 100 words. Nor is it more than 100 words. The read time is short. It is typically 30 seconds to a minute or so… Please remain with the article for at least 30 seconds. Leave a comment, highlight anything of interest, and clap.
