Your reference to a yellow rose made me immediately think of the yellow rose of Texas. Yellow roses are common in Texas. Yellow roses, when given as a gift, are sometimes considered a sign of friendship.

I lived in Texas for approximately 17 years. I am currently trying to get back there. Thank you for this nice reminder of home.
